Notice is hereby given that a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Lucas will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2007, at 7:00 PM at the Lucas City Annex, 185 Country Club Road, Lucas, Texas, at which time the following Agenda will be discussed.

Citizen Input

The Mayor and City Council invites citizens to speak on any City business item. In accordance with the Open Meetings Act, comments of public interest will be heard, but no action may be taken by the City Council other than to refer the item to a future agenda. Please complete and submit to the City Secretary a “Request to Speak” sheet prior to the meeting.

Consent Agenda

Items placed on the Consent Agenda are considered routine in nature and are considered non-controversial. The Consent Agenda can be acted upon in one motion. A majority vote of the Council is required to remove any item for discussion and separate action. Council members may vote on any single item without comment and may submit written comments as part of the official record

and Pressure Reducing Valve work as shown on the attached Proposal from

13) Discuss and Consider the approval of a request to relocate a drainage ditch in Amherst Estates and direct staff to review and consider approval of the  amended plat for Amherst Estates showing the abandonment of the 40’ drainage easement as shown on the subject exhibit. [Caudell]

 

14) Discuss and Consider the affirmation of the “Letter of Agreement” between the City of Lucas and Pingleton, Howard, & Company, P.C. to conduct the City’s

audit for the year ending September 30, 2007. [Catoe]

 

15) Discuss and Consider the approval of an interlocal agreement between the City of Lucas and the City of Wylie regarding animal control services. [Catoe]

 

16) Discuss and Consider the approval of a development agreement between the

City of Lucas and Rockland Farms Lot Venture, J.V., RH of Texas, L.P., Weekly

Homes, L.P., & Rockland Farms Homeowners’ Association, Inc. (collectively the

“Owner”). [Catoe]

 

17) Discuss and Consider the approval of an interlocal cooperative contract between the City of Lucas and Omni Base Services of Texas (The Texas Department of Public Safety). [Bowman]

 

18) Discuss and Consider the approval of an amendment to the Code of Ordinances regarding the job description of the City Secretary. [Catoe]

 

19) Discuss and Consider the creation of a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization by the City of Lucas Fire Department for the purpose of accepting donations. [Kitchens]

 

20) Adjournment.

 

As authorized by Section 551.071 (2) of the Texas Government Code, the City Council may

convene into closed Executive Session for the purpose of seeking confidential legal advice from the City Attorney regarding any item on the agenda at any time during the meeting.
